Verse/Bible Reading for the Week
Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically - as something done for the Lord, not for men.
- Colossians 2:23
Reading the Word of God is one of the most important things we can do for our spiritual health.
But many people fail to take part in this vital task because they don't know where to begin, or
because they don't know how much to read at a given time ... or because they get discouraged
when they realize they won't get through the entire Bible in one year. If you've ever felt that way,
there's good news for you: you can start a daily Bible reading program right now. Just pick up a
copy of God's Word (if you don't have one ask Bro. David, Bro. Dustin, or one of our deacons, and
we will provide you with one free of charge), or go to a free website like biblegateway.com. You
can choose any version you like, but for daily reading something like the NIV or NLT will be the
most user friendly. Below are suggested readings for each day of the week. These will probably
take about 10 minutes to complete. Don't get bogged down with difficult names or words, or
trying to understand everything that's going on. Just read for the enjoyment of it and allow the
Lord to speak to you as He wills. May the Lord bless you as you journey through His Word.
