Youth Ministry
Here at Fairview Baptist Church we are dedicated to reaching our youth for Jesus Christ. We believe strongly in giving our young people today the guidance they need to be victorious for Jesus and teaching them how to continually grow in their spiritual walk. Through fellowship, study, and missions we help our youth to get on track for the Lord.
Fellowship: We try to keep a full calendar of events for our youth in order to give them chances to grow as a "group". Some of our events so far this year have included a youth retreat, going to Hearts on Fire youth conference, some lock-ins, several events for all youth in the Lincoln County Baptist Association including a 5th Quarter Bash and a Discipleship Now Weekend. We still have a full calendar ahead of us as well. We have a Ski trip coming up February 7th , Ky. Changers:YOUTH ON MISSION coming up June 13-20 and SPIRIT SONG July 9-11 2009. There are still yet more ideas and events yet to be put on the Calendar that we are looking into.
Missions: Here at Fairview we are dedicated to serving others through various mission fields. Every year our Youth participates in Kentucky Changers: YOUTH ON MISSION. The youth commit to one week out of their summer where they go to various places in Kentucky to perform work and services to those in need. This could include roofing, painting, building ramps and decks, installing siding, and getting a chance to witness for Jesus Christ through their words and actions. This is sponsered by the Kentucky Baptist Convention: Baptist Men on Mission. This year We will be traveling to Princeton Ky. June 13th through the 20th 2009.
Study: The church has provided our youth a Youth Center for them to have meetings, bible studies, and fellowships. Class time is a time when we dig down into the scriptures, to study, to learn, and to apply Gods word to our lives. We use various resources and approaches to reach and grow the youth. These resources will at all times be Biblical.
